From Manchester - U.K.
Hello,
I'm Mike based in Manchester, England and I have just joined the forum. I have been a bird watcher most of my life and now combined it with photography. although I am not very experienced at it. So apart from the social side of the forum I hope to be able to pick a multiple of brains when I mess up. For the record I have a Bridge camera Fugi Finepix HS20EXR. I get on well with it but I don't think I make the best use of it as I always shoot on auto focus.Comments, advice etc. is welcome.
Cheerio,
Mike

Welcome and buy a DSLR :)
Welcome Mikhir, try using the av setting, experiment with that and maybe progress on to mannual setting. Auto setting is ok if you are at a time when you've only got a split second to get "that special shot". Good luck, and show us some results.
That's an excellent camera, just keep experimenting with the settings. Go to DSLR when you are ready and not before. I have just got rid of mine as I couldn't be bothered with all the clutter anymore, I now use a CSC and a compact which fit nicely in my pockets and produce excellent results.

The other day I went to Salford Quays for a photo session, try going there yourself its got stacks of opportunities, especially at night.

Hi Mikhir, Welcome to the hog. We are always glad to welcome newcomers to the group. Now all you have to do is post some of your shots.
Hi Mike :-) I was a regular on the Fujifinepix site for a few years and only recently I urged the serious photographers there to move to this site as it leaves it for dead..nice to have you here...
