Someone asked about what kind of car you drive. How about high mileage on a car?
Our '99 Honda Civic now belongs to our son, and it has 263,000 miles on it. It looks and drives like new.

I used to own a 1976 Volvo 242 and I put 480,000 miles on it.

I used to own a 1976 Volvo 242 and I put 480,000 miles on it.
We had a '79 with 243,000.

I had a 1982 Volvo and put about 300,000 on it...THAT was some car.

gee, feel like a kid here. My 1997 SAAB Convertible only has 127,600 on it thereabouts.

Nope ... 263.000 ? .. that's almost new ! .. I have a neighbour who owns a twelve year old Volvo V70 wagon (estate) .. this vehicle is shabby and tired looking with lots of battle scars .. BUT, it has over "430.000" miles on it ... Yes, no mistake here "430.000 miles"!

We had a couple of high mileage Volvos - one we sold at about 243,000 and the other around 160,000. Both of them nagged us with niggling problems on a regular basis. Durable, but not reliable.

I once treated my self to a brand new Vauxhall Astra Van for work ,it reached 143 miles and I had to have a new engine

We had a few Volvo's here over the years ... I found them boring but faultless... ultra reliable! .... "untill our current one", it looks boring but it dont drive like that ... .. We have a S80 T twin turbo tiptronic.. this goes like a bat out of hell !

I've got the opposite situation...1999 Mercedes 320e...only 58,000 miles. Only repairs were tires and brakes, but the body is rusting out! What a shame...runs like a baby carriage, but has to go because of rust! That engine so wants to keep going!
