Nothing new to report; the trees have not moved a great deal, and most of the rocks remain generally in place. Some several grains of sand have been battered a bit by bikers, but nothing or nobody has disturbed the rotting, rusting tin cans at the southerly cliff edge. The family of Whiptail Lizzies (lizards who, when they were still in residence, would whip their tails in a most provocative way) appear to have vacated the Ridge, lock stock & barrel. Or maybe they're just 'on the road' heading for some granddaughter's graduation out of state. With Whiptails, one can never be sure.
This concludes the 2021 bi-quarterly CRReport. Copies on file with the BLM, the Space Force, and affiliate AARP sub-agencies.
Great set.
Love number two, followed by number three.

Another set of amazing images
Rugged trees, threatening sky. What’s not to like.
Wonderful and dramatic compositions. When I first read you title I thought it said Cedar Ridge Resort. Maybe for scorpions or some other desert inhabitant. However, it is a lovely area and you photos are excellent.

The 'Cedar Ridge Resort' may likely be forthcoming, Carol. I give it another year or two, now that resort-worthy lots have become scarce in the area, and tourism isn't skyrocketing, its black hole nova-ing everywhere in sight. (And in places not so much in sight, too, more's the pity.)
Scorpions do exist around here, factually speaking, though I've never gone out at night with a black light to look for any. Only one I ever saw was dead. It was in a urinal in the 'comfort station' at the parking lot/begin of the trail in Devils Garden in Arches N.P. Poor critter was belly up on the top of the nice 'mint'-looking thing an Arches Maintenance staff person had placed in the gentleman's pissoire. Probably shoulda shot it, but I didn't. The mint was good though, I heard somebody say.
I love how you have handled the contrast in the sky and ground.
I like these, Jim... they have, to me, a sense of anticipation- that moment of breath holding before an uncertain event... I like that. And, given the cloud cover, maybe whip tails simply moved to higher ground... somewhere above the mint line...
Nice tree shots. The first one is my winner.

Thanks for the update Cany, everything looks to be right where they should be, except for those great drama-inducing clouds.
