Everyone has the right to their opinion.

It is a fact that many of them are wrong.

Not really.
Just with the advent of the internet, SO may more people are aware.
Chances are lower that someone in the group would know that a statement is incorrect, depending on the statement.
Used to be something was stated in a group of maybe 2-5 people,
now it's in the thousands, if not millions.

What bothers me is that a ton of people will see the erroneous information and actually believe it is correct because they saw it on the internet or a perceived "authority" made the statement, and people will further propagate the bad information.
And that's how erroneous information becomes gospel, enough people see it, hear it, believe it,
just like micro SDHC adapter cards adding a "delay" to the card reading and writing.......

And I did find this about polarizer filters for another thread:

WOW, I did find an article that purports two pieces of glass in a polarizer filter, with one rotating!!!
"How do I use a polarizing filter?

Most polarizers are circular, screw-in filters. A polarizing filter is actually two pieces of glass put together. The front piece rotates, while the other piece doesn’t. Rotating the front of the filter will change the intensity of the reflections, or the intensity of the color saturation effect."

And this about the filter constructed of sandwiched optical elements:
"The polarizing filter features a dichroic absorbing layer sandwiched between two layers of glass."
(Would the "sandwiched" elements really have a capillary action to get a liquid between them.
I suppose it depends on the sandwiching method.)

I'm guessing ONE of these articles is correct.
My money is on the second......

And this is how bad information keeps propagating.

Now, does aperture change if you put a full frame lens on a crop sensor camera? Talk about stirring the pot!!!!

We have one member that believes it does and will defend the idea for 10+ pages, even when proven wrong by multiple knowledgeable people.

It is only as old as the internet, itself.

FYI -
I told Shaw Academy I was confused by the paragraph.
They said it was in error and corrected it.
