I took a drive up the Okanogan Valley in central Washington State recently. I was primarily looking for wildflowers and while I did find some most were past their peak. There were, however, a few interesting landscapes to photograph that were helped along by some storm clouds and spots of rain. Here's the best of them. The first four were taken near the confluence of the Columbia and Okanogan Rivers where long ago there was an early settler trading post called Fort Okanogan. That location was flooded when the Columbia River was dammed. I hope you enjoy these shots.

Awesome landscape series. The wildflowers you did find are very pretty but the landscapes are wows. The spring greens with mountains as a backdrop are really beautiful.

Thanks to those who have left a comment. I appreciate the kind words. I grew up in this part of the state but don't get back often. It was a good week and really good to be able to travel a bit again.

Thank you. I believe the yellow crop is canola used in the making of cooking oil and for livestock feed. I've read that it also helps rejuvenate the soil.
