I have not been on here is a very long time. Life has a way of getting busy I believe.

Anyway, I was out hiking yesterday and took this one of Junior, my 17 month old Rottweiler.

Can you kind folks tell me what I can do next time to take a better photo?

Appreciate it much.

I would wait until Junior is looking your way so we can see his face.

Here is one of his face, but it is rather blurred. He is eating peanut butter out of a cup.

Eating peanut butter.
Eating peanut butter....

Try off the leash in comfortable (for him) surroundings. Have your camera ready, click your tongue or give a little whistle. When he looks at you, shoot. Nice looking dog - never had or knew a Rottie.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try them.

Yes, he is rather handsome, but then I am partial!

Take a picture of him whenever you can, even w with just your cell phone. The point is he might get a little more used to the actions you take to get there. And no flashes directly into his eyes.

Agreed
We had a Rottie named Bear.
They are a great breed.

I have hundreds of pictures of Junior and I definitely try to keep from flashing his eyes. If it hurts mine, it most likely hurts his.

But, good points, just keep trying. Thanks. 😊

Thanks for commenting. Yes, beautiful creatures.

Was your Bear a big boy?

Yes, daddy is bigger, and older, but he does not live with us. He lives across the way, about four miles away. As does mom!

Beautiful dog! Get him to look at the camera for a better photo. I've had three Rotties and love the breed.

history of Rottweiler dogs: they are named after the Town of Rottweil a/N which was a free imperial City for over 600 years in south west Germany between the Black Forest and the Swabian Alps, close to the French and Swiss border. The Rottweilers where breed to be butchers dogs, friendly but prodective.

My first two Rottweilers were acquired in Germany when I was stationed there. Very popular over there.
