Very cool. The flame needs to be brighter and the candle glow more.

When I viewed the scene with a brighter candle, it drew too much attention from the main subject, so I choose to reduce that brightness and let it blend into the theme of the picture. You are probably right that it could have been brighter.

There are different theories on this. But the candle could very well serve as the center of interest to the entire picture, it's in a good position, all the directional lines point to it, with the skull being the balanced counterpoint.

I'm no PROFESSIONAL photographer and this may be the best way, but I like the other way better. jmo
