I can't find this on eBay. Rats!
I had a strip of prints (probably from one of these) when i was a boy, given me by a career Army Aircorps / Airforce Uncle. They contact printed the negatives and fastened them into long strips. The detail and sharpness was amazing and could be further examined with a magnifying glass. They were used for all sorts of Recon.

We can only imagine the peril these recon folks were subject to “just to get the shot.”

World War II era aerial camera for photo recon work by the Army Air Force. And yes the roll film was that big. Mostly it was B&W transparency film if I remember right from the class I took on Air Photo and Map Interpretation back about 1970. That was in the Geography Department of California State University at Los Angeles* when I was adding Geography to my degree while finishing my teaching credential.
*UCLA's lesser known cousin on the East Side of LA, tends towards less doctorial degrees and more things like practical science, engineering and teaching credentials or careers that only need a 4 year degree with just a bit of grad work or extension classes. When I graduated over 25% of the student body (including me) were Vietnam Vets and the average age of students was 28 (me) because so many of us were vets and therefore older.
The antiwar hippies tended to be polite and quiet on campus - the vets outnumbered them by a lot.

Oh it's out there, it's called a SHARPS Pod. (Shared Reconnaissance Pod System). I'm familiar with it's daddy the TARPS Pod (Tactical Airborne Reconnaissance Pod System) and at 1800+ pounds it didn't have a neck strap either.
