I use class 10 PNY. I needed one so went to WalMart and picked up 2 and they were on sale. So far so good! This was back in May, they are faster.

UHS speed class 1 is the same as a 10 card - they just made a new system because the old one was getting a bit ridiculous. It's a bit confusing, I know :)

WE live in WI and Shopko carrys the high class card all the time. Every now and then Shopko has the higher class cards on sale.
And then there is always Amazon and E-Bay.

Don't overlook Staples. I usually watch the newspaper and they frequently run a sale on the 16 gb PNY cards for 14.99.
Also same for Best Buy although I dislike going there.

When I bought my camera I paid $70 for the same card in question and $129 for a 90MB/s San Disk card here in New Zealand. You guys have got it so good in the States. On reflection I probably didn't need to get the the 90MB/s card, and the those prices were both discounted about about $50. As a comparison $US27 = $NZ32.90 I think I can get a 45MB/s card from Amazon for just under 50 bucks all up if they will ship it to me.

I bought my ScanDisk 30mb/sec SD cards at Best Buy and they are a class 10, and they didn't cost very much. The number will be inside of a shape like the letter C. I don't think you got a SD card though. You got a SDHC UHS-I or SDXC UHS-I which is a UHS-I Bus instead of a high speed or normal Bus. Your card is actually a very good card. Here is a link to a simple chart that shows the different cards and their speed symbols and what each speed is good for.

You are fine with the card you have. Nikon DonB is correct also. A Transend class 10 card is a great card too. I have shot lots of video (a class 6 and up)and lots of stills on the 8G class 10 and never had one problem. Boone

Do not drive your car anywhere out of your driveway. Save the money and search the web. There are so many good shops and at $4.00 a gallon for regular gas you are throwing your money away. I understand some of the older cameras that use SD cards wont work with SDXC cards.

The card you bought is a very good quality card and I would keep it. It is a class 10 card which meens it will handle anything most any camera can throw at it.
There are two limiting factors that determine what class card you need. The first is what are you shooting? If video or continuous photos you will need a fast card. Second, the card needs to be faster than the buffer on the camera can write. This is hard to determine on many camera manufactures. They may tell you how big a buffer they are using but you really have to search to find out the cameras write speed. A class 10, in most cases, is faster than most cameras so is a good choice if shooting video or contiuous.

Not necessarly , some manufactures use a different marking system, Sandisk being one of them. I actually like their system because you can tell what speed their cards read and write at. The card the OP bought is a class 10 card.
