Here's images from day 14 evening and day 15 of our 20 day backpack on Utah's southern Waterpocket Fold. The skies got interesting for a few days here... That's my tent ( we never saw another soul in our 20 days of hiking) there in a camp we spent two nights at.

Many interesting scenes. i envied you the camping. I didn't see any water anywhere.

Altho the trip was GREATLY affected by the continued drought in the southwest we did find (and photograph) water. I'm not sure how to do it but if you go back and check out Parts 1-4 that I have posted, you'll see some fun photos of water (and other things!)

There's a reason that we didn't see any other hikers in 20 days - the skill/experience level needed to travel safely there is huge. You must be able to friction climb domes that have hundreds of feet of exposure, you must know how to finds water in canyon country and you must be able to do this all while carrying a heavy pack (5-10 days worth of food and sometimes 3 gallons of water). Not for the uninitiated.

These are so awesome. Do you have a planned route for the hike. Are there trails. It's such big and wild country that it is hard to image navigating it.

There are no trails in the area. We had a general idea of what we wanted to cover, then the terrain and water availability determined specifics. You can only do this sort of thing with many years of experience in the backcountry.
