This would be fantastic for a Type 1 diabetic like the O.P. As a Type 2, I'm not so enthusiastic. I've had one short-term through my doctor's office. This particular one kept my readings which my doctor later downloaded. However, the thing starts to itch after awhile. I was glad to have it off my arm.
