I think you did well. The bluish cold tones work well to accentuate the feeling of winter.
This photo is my winner of the day. Congratulations, Tommy!

Beautifully done. I’m not usually a fan of B&W, maybe because that’s all there was when I was a child! However, this image deserves it and the addition of the blues just makes it better.

Tommy, The tonal value added to the sky adds to the quality of the image IMHO.
Great composition also.
Stan

Thanks Stan - I wanted it to be just subtle enough to add without overdoing it. Thanks for posting!

Outstanding. I love the barbed wire fence in the foreground and the tracks in the snow, too.

I try to get some foreground objects or details in much of the landscape and "old barn" photography that I do. Kind of a trademark of mine, when the subjects present themselves, as I think it adds a sort of melancholy dimension to the image. Thanks for posting!

Good result, Tommy! The touch of blue and the frame result in a striking shot.

I wasn't sure about the mat, but I liked the way the color of the mat accented the sky colors somewhat... so, there's the mat!

Thanks, Jim - I really like b&w for certain subjects and am constantly trying to improve my work in that area.

For a lot of folks, b&w is an acquired taste - much like eggplant or mushrooms - it's a texture thing...

Thanks for posting and your kind words, Ellen...

Good eye, nicely shot, I really like the crop. I could do without the frame though.

I processed this with a touch of the hues remaining in the sky, just as a bit of a counterpoint to the starkness of the subjects and the snow - whaddya think? Really needs to be evaluated in download...

I like it. REJ.

I think it worked out well. As an added bonus the snow looks like snow.
