Because that film is still as good now as it was 35 years ago, especially in larger formats.

If you want the best results from film you should at least consider medium format. For B&W it’s better than full frame digital.

I am quite conversant with film, both medium format roll, and 5 x 4 sheet. I still have Tri-X 5 x 4 negatives used in my ARPS Distinction submission 1976. (Also have the Prints). Just wondered why your post was brought-out in 2021.

The building is gone or the same image could be taken today.

The reason I posted it is that it shows the natural wide latitude of the film.

The film was exposed at ISO 400, processed normally in Tmax developer 1+4 and scanned on an Epson V750.

The original scan is about 90 MP. There was no post processing other than leveling and resizing.

Since the image was subsequently reduced in size it could have been taken with a medium format camera, preferably at 6x7 cm, and scanned at 4000 ppi - a 75 MP result.
