Okay, sinatraaman, I'll give you something different to talk about.
Throughout my entire career of some sixty-five years or so, I have sold more photos taken by one particular camera than all the others I have ever owned, been assigned, or borrowed.

My favorite, and at times only, camera for more than twenty years was the - now brace yourself - ARGUS C-3, more lovingly known by all who knew it, "The Brick." The finest camera ever made, then or now. It wouldn't do everything these modern cameras will, but what it does do, it does better.

Believe it or not but I am still selling photos taken with the brick, on botth slide film and B/W, more than fifty years ago.

I don't know if it is me getting grumpy like andy rooney since turning 50, the loss of bobm and fivedawgs among others, or a growing irritation at seeing one more darn bee in a flower shot, but this place doesn't seem as freindly, as small townish as it did. there are many voices of good photographers, you havent seen post in a while like usmc1963, cat, vee, etc The sheer number of posts and the repeativeness of them. the ruder tone of some people, the angry undercurrent, and sometimes lack of respect. I could be wrong, maybe all I need is a hug. just ramlin trying to avoid some potentialy bad news. In another note why do people ask for an honest opinion? why not a dishonest one? (okay sinatraman, you are smart , intelligent and all single women want to make love to you.) Thanks for that dishonest opinion. or ask for what is the best... just once i'd like to hear what is the worst camera or software? just for variety sake. anyways woke up in a philisophical bad mood, and having a metaphysical crisis.

Ha, how about just in a bad mood because my knee aches. Had knee surgery two days ago and hate crutches!

But, I've only been on this forum a few weeks and know there is a lot of people with very good information willing to share. However...just as many seem too critical. I have noticed it appears some regulars are not posting - that's ashame.

Hi: My father used an Argus and took many, many slides. Whenever we had company for dinner, he'd pull out the slide machine, screen and we'd gaze upon some of his finest photos. I have that Argus, a light meter and all of dad's slides. Would you mind posting a few photos from the Argus? You probably have posted many in the "photography" part of the forum, but I'd love to see an Argus photograph. Thank you. Cheryl

To a certain degree, everything loses it's charm. Why, because we become familiar with it. We started taking things for granted. Most of all we get bored. Yes we get bored with the person we are, which makes answering simular guestions tedious.
Then we start to criticize and falut find in others. Why?Because they did not look up an answer we've already given, they clearly are wrong. It's like people who go to Church every weekend and ask the Priest the same questions over and over again, Like the answers are going to change. Forturately the Priest or Religious leader does not tell people" The answers are all in the Bible. Koran or Torah, just read them and you will know."

We've all heard the same sermon over and over again, yet we almost always say to the Religious leader how much we enjoyed it. So it appears that some people are not good at peaching, and clearly will never be a Saint. Even so, they reserver the right to pass judgement on others. They after all, are Photography Royality.

We're allow the freedom to ask question, as long we don't ask the same question that's have already been asked. God forbid you did not look it up, and you just wanted to make friendly contact with other people. It's like making a statement about the weather. Never mind that your new and trying to find your way around the fourm and do not understand that you've asked a question that has already been answer.

For that matter, don't ever ask God, WHY? he's already answer. It's in the bible, or at least on the internet. No need to go to church looking for answers that have already been given.

Now God did give you the freedom of chose, if you don't want to answer a question don't. Unless your being tortore, which clearly somepeople feel they are. God did you give that freedom to agnore them, as well as the right to think you are superior, Even if your not.

thank you one and all for the encouraging words. I am leaving my health issues up to the great physician and know no matter what Jesus will se me through. Sorry justtammi but for those of us who have a personnel relationship with God, our faith is as much a part of us and our conversations as breathing. if that offends you sorry but take it up with God. The origional point of this post was just an impression I got that this site seems less freindly and colder than when I first started. It is probably just growing pains as more and more people find the hog.

As others have stated before you are in my prayers for health and healing. You and Bob and a few others have been most kind in your critiques and words of encouragement to me. God led me to this site and I hope that He will take care of those issues which we cannot - both on the site and personally. Please keep smiling and shooting and posting. I enjoy your contributions immensely.

Im not saying I want to quit, iI just suspect I've got a case of bobitis. Also hearing your doctor tell you it is potentially the c word, changes one perspective on things at warp speed. there just was a spirit of camaderie that was heree that seems missing. again it could be me.

Even the big 'C' can be beat! Lung cancer survivor 6 yrs 6 months 2 weeks! Make peace with it, it does help you keep a positive attitude. I enjoy your responses, advice, and yes humor sinatraman. :P
