Is this creature a “he” or rather a “she”?
I would say that this otter-duck company is very unusual to get so close?
Or - it had to be a very smart educated duck.

Yes, unusual. Although an otter on land seems not as frightening as one in water. The mallard hens, and particularly those with chicks, squawk and scatter when it swims near. In fact, that is how I found the otter this morning--seemed a hen was chasing and scolding two chicks and I thought maybe chicks were from a different brood, but then it dawned on me, otter in water. So I heard it before I saw it--early warning system. This my reward for watching it this morning.

Notice pee in pic 6 & 7. You'd think he'd do it in the water. Saw him drinking water while standing on platform--I thought he'd just ingest while swimming. Don't know why, but both water in and water out seemed a bit curious.
That’s a great presentation!
