Someone trustworthy to make -up new passwords and send me updates. I must have 25-30 passwords for different sites. The one I have used the longest and NEVER changed it is where we do our financial transactions. Another is where I have stores of over 23,000 entries into my precious Genealogy files and DNA.
I am not asking for free, I am willing to pay for a dependable service.

I've used LastPass for years. You can get it for free, and there's a one-time (I think) premium you can pay to get expedited help when you want it. I only change passwords when some site - usually a financial one - makes me.

I also have a notebook with all my passwords written down. Last time I counted there were about 300 of 'em, although many are duplicates. I tend to use the same password lots of places where I have to have one but there isn't anything for somebody to steal - if they want to hijack my login ID on a stamp collecting forum to post nonsense stuff I might be upset, but won't be hurt.

Here is a website you might find handy:
https://passwordsgenerator.net/

Another option is to use excel to generate a series of random numbers. For example, if you used the formula:
="F11andBeThere!&Int(rand()*1000) it would generate the statement F11andBeThere and a random number. Of course you could make F11andBeThere! anything you wanted it to be.

I have attached the excel spreadsheet so you can play with it.

They may not get much, but they will get your email address and any other info you might have inadvertently given over time. Even your email address can be used against you.
To check out how safe a website might be, try searching the website address here: https://themarkup.org/blacklight?url (check UHH- very safe )
To check if your email has been 'hacked': Try this https://haveibeenpwned.com/
You wouldn't give your home address to a stranger, and its smart not to give your email address to 'strangers as well. It can be a 'key' to all sorts of nefarious actions in the hands of an expert.

If you are using Apple's Safari browser it will generate secure passwords and remember them for you. I usually make up my own though!

The various password managers - Lastpass, etc. - will make up passwords for you and remember them.

Wouldn't it be simpler just to type a string and then pick three digits?

I have found that using a scheme to construct passwords works best. For example, for financial stuff, you can start with a phrase like "Money Is The Root of All Evil". Then construct a password using category (F for financial), symbol, and first letter in each word of phrase. Use constant methodology for upper and lower case (such as first and last letters after symbol UC, rest LC).
So, for financial sites, password is F+MitroaE.
Obviously, you can modify the scheme to suit your needs.
