Does anyone know of a download or app that would provide a service such as the old fashioned personal telephone book did. This download would allow one to list phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, birthdays, anniversaries, fax numbers and/or anything else one might want to list. It could also be used on both smartphones and computers.

Excell is very handy but has a fair learning curve. Excellent for all kinds of things.

Doesn't your phone and computer have a contacts app? That sounds like what you are talking about.

You didn't say what operating system.....

Windows Live Mail is what I use as an address book.

Many mail clients do also, including Thunderbird.

Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Evernote (extensive setup required, but it would work), iCloud?

I know you're asking about software but what I use is a real address book for keeping things like passwords, activation codes, email addresses etc as well as postal addresses and telephone numbers. It's safe and secure and I'll always be able to access it when it's needed.

Google 'Contacts" should do it, sync across phone and computer, add a note pad app for shopping lists etc.

The Contacts app is built into all Apple operating systems and automatically shares among all your Apple devices if you use Icloud.

My contacts app on my iPhone syncs with my MacPro. All the Apple products do this via Family sharing. Same for Calendars and many app purchases from the app store.

I would think, although I am unsure, that the Windows environment would have something similar.

I’ll second that! I’m a big fan of Excel. I use Excel for all kinds of purposes - textual and numeric.

So have you tried the Mac Contacts app and found it wanting?

I use a word processor with "Rolodex" selected as the label/page size. If I wanted, I could print everyone out on Rolodex cards, but having them on the computer is good enough. m I did print a short list for people I contact more often.

I also typed and saved address labels for people I send mail to. I add the barcode, so the mail is sure to go through. Most word processors have templates for all kinds of labels.
