Would you buy the camera again? Can it shoot RAW at 10 f/sec? I like the price listing. Any other recommendations?

Had a 50, now have a 60; both met all my needs. When 60 dies will look to replace with 70 or latest model.
My wife took it to Africa. I shot my Nikons. The incredible reach of her 60 provided some amazing pics that my Nikons even with fairly long lenses couldn't match. Sharpness was good even at maximum focal lengths.
Lilihoilee, Coming from a Nikon shooter, your impressive review of the zoom sharpness was helpful. I notice the camera is not weather sealed. Due to its small sensor, the RAW images did not impress some of the reviewers. Stan Mills (YouTube) uses a Powershot for his outdoor hikes in and around Yellowstone. Meeting those conditions should qualify the camera for extremes. Thanks for your response.

I had a SX50, then a SX60. Sold the SX50 and kept the SX60. Some suggested better results from the SX50. I didn’t see that. My only issue at the time was with the sensor size and burst rate. I occasionally grumbled about the AF system but it is “okay.” Along came the G3x which had the advantage of a 1” sensor, but with half the range. Lens brightness was comparable IMHO, as was speed. Continuous shooting was still nothing to shout about. I still sold the SX60. Now, we have the SX70, which still has the small sensor but is still worth a look and I wonder about its successor. Canon is concentrating on its R line and lenses that both the G3x and SX series seem to be in limbo. And on the Sony side, the RX10 iv reigns supreme (?) but is a little heavy (not as bad as the Nikon P series, thankfully). There are others from Lumix and others, but bridge cameras right now seem to be taking a back seat. Back to the SX70, am I the only one who wonders why they never seem to be in stock at Canon’s refurb site but are readily available on eBay?

I have 2 60's (One had movement problems, grit in lens), so bought a 70. All work now?
We bought them for FL range for plant/animal trips, carrying different lenses for 60 or 70D's not my idea of fun.
That said can not compare to other similar cameras.
So:
1. My wife has dropped hers more than once on solid stone floors, etc. still work no lens damage. Seem fairly weather resistant.
2. I have ripped off 30 or more shots in rapid succession.
3. Both are poor in low light conditions, 70 seems worse of two. Can't shoot the night sky period, no bulb mode, etc. Poor for even late twilight for animals, as we found in Africa watching a cat eat an antelope. 60 D much better for low light, R way, way, way better than 60D.
4. Need an adapter for filters, cheap, but no threading on camera lens.
In summary, good for wide range of daylight shooting without need to change lenses.

Have the SX50. Better than the 60.

A little off topic but I bought the SX50 as a refurb for $199 about 5 years ago. I was a bit surprised to see the SX70 priced at $599.

I think they keep cramming more pixels, i.e. smaller pixels, in same space with consequences.
My wife and her birding friend both have SX70s.
They both say they love them.
Almost perfect for birding.
Yes, has all major functions.

I did buy the sx70 but returned it because it didn’t seem to focus properly. I read some reviews that said a few got through QC without being checked and to just return and buy another. However, I wound up getting a Nikon P950 and a used Sx50 instead. I still might try the sx70 again sometime in the future
FYI: In case it matters to you, the SX70 loses the hot shoe.

I guess my point was the 60 was not as sharp as the 50 and I hope the 70 is as good as the 50.
Had the 30, 50, and 60. Good, but I went to the M5 and M50 with adaptors for EF lenses. Thought they were not sharp enough at longer ranges 50 feet plus.
