A way taken: a trail within the city limits of Portland, ME. Quiet, but not isolated.

Am over here year round, walking trails but now also fat bike trails. Miles of trails around and up on top of a ridge. autumns are awesome

This is area is known as Death Gulch. In the past this was a train line of the Reading railroad. The train line was discontinued and converted into a trail. This area got the name Death Gulch because in 1921 there was a head on collision between two trains. The trains were made of wood. Because of the narrowness of the area rescue workers had a hard time getting to the injured. 26 people died.

Out back of my house, an X-C ski trail in winter, bike and walking come spring etc Not my thang...I want solitude and dirt
