My wife's 810 is at 284,000 something and still clicking strong. Never taken off of HC.

Also keep in mind a new shutter is around $300 to $400.

I would not consider purchasing an high end camera from a private seller...
Instead I would deal with Nikon for a Refurbished one or mpb for their previously own kit...
They stand behind their product...
Here is mpb's current listing (10) of Nikon D810's with each the camera's Shutter Count listed.

If you are fixated on Shutter Activation here is one in Excellent Condition with a Shutter count of 23,880 that comes with a Charger; Battery and Front Body Cap for $1,199.00.

I personally wouldn't buy a Really Right Stuff L-bracket... I purchased the Induro GHB-1 Gimbal... far more useful in my humble estimation for shooting in "Portrait" i.e. Vertical orientation.

For comparison I purchased my Nikon D810 several years ago as a Refurb from Nikon USA for $2399. It had 21,000 activations... and has preformed flawlessly.

mbp offers offers a Six Mouth Warranty on their "previously owned cameras"

I found the Nikon D810 to be fabulous tool for location gigs, albeit it is no match for my Nikon D3x in the studio...

Hope this helps authorizeduser...

I have been interested very recently in selling my Nikon 810 since I just bought the Nikon 850. One of the big photo houses in NYC quoted me the average value of my 810 at about $700. He was prepared to give me a per cent of that figure after inspection. I do not know the shutter count but neither did the store rep who gave me the average value. The new 850 was $2800. If I were you I would not rush to buy the 810 at over $1000 especially with a count that is at best moderate.
