This one was quite a challenge as a focus stacked image and I'm not exactly sure what it may be other than that it belongs to the family of True Bugs. The reason that it was a challenge was due to its size which was not much larger than a grain of rice. I believe it to be a nymph stage specimen.

I thought that it might be a Leaf Footed Bug however the proboscis looks a bit different from the adults that I can identify by their specialized leaf shaped hind legs.

Thanks for dropping by. This is a specimen that my grandson had collected and preserved in alcohol for me.

What lens were you using for this very sharp image? Thanks.

Thanks for asking for I enjoy sharing what I do and how I do it. This session was taken with a Laowa 60mm f/2.8 1X-2X macro lens. It is set at 2X with an f/5.6 aperture. The lens is mounted on a bellows and extended to produce 5X magnification on a APS-C sensor Fujifilm X-T20 mirrorless camera. The camera is mounted on a digital motorized focusing rail set to advance 15-microns per shot taken.

The illumination is provided by LED desk lamps and diffused to reduce harsh shadows and specular highlights. This is a focus stacked image consisting of 354-images that were processed in Zerene Stacker.
