Springtime in the Ozarks, can be quite scenic. Of course, Dogwood Canyon Nature Park happens to have a little help. The dogwoods were for the most part halfway opened, and the redbuds were mostly opened, but most of the tree leaves were still just budding, - in many shades of light green. These were taken on April 12, 2021.
It has many(!) waterfalls, and the landscaping is keep impeccable. The walking path is outstanding, with photo opportunities every which way you look! If you want to trout fish, you can 'catch and release' (or keep what you catch for a fee). Many people rent a bicycle, or take a tour tram. The walkway is about 3 miles one way, but ends at the entrance to the animal display area (no walking there for obvious reasons... wild animals are just that, wild!). To see my photo of the white bison, please see my post of a couple of days ago.
It also has a nice museum, nature display, gift shop, and restaurant.
Restaurant and museum; just out of sight in this photo is the ticket booth on the left, and entrance to park to the right.

View from under the bridge; the tree to the left is indeed a VERY bright pink!

Three of many more waterfalls, with spring colors.

Pool with a cascade near the large animal exhibit, also has some hybrid golden rainbow trout... easy prey for bald eagles in the winter season.

Thanks for the nice compliment. I am sorry you didn't make it there this spring... It is well worth marking the calendar. I am near Jacksonville, AR, and the timing of the flowering of the trees was about 2 weeks later in southern MO than where I am located. It is very pleasant to visit. Spring marches north at approximately 10 miles per day, or so I have heard. So you maybe can plan accordingly for next year!
Colorful salute to Spring, Doug!

It is quite colorful, with lots of textures in the scenes. Thanks for commenting.
Looks like a really pleasant place to spend the day.
Fabulous downloads, Doug. You were definitely there at the right time to catch some spring color in your photos.

Thanks for commenting, we enjoyed it immensely... except when my wife found out she had sat on a rock that had a water snake hiding under it. Water snakes are harmless, just scary due to a resemblance to cottonmouth snakes.

I was really hoping to catch the trees in spring bloom, When we left our home, they had been blooming for over a week. I think we did hit the jackpot! Thanks for commenting.
Beautiful images of a very scenic location!
