p.7 Hi, Jimber. Is that a meadowlark or variety of blackbird? It's beautiful.

Hi Pat. It's a yellow-headed black bird.

Instead of dropping things into glasses of water I decided to build a catapult and throw things.
A strong electromagnet holds the table down until the door bell looking switch is pushed. A laser beam is the trigger for the camera. The cool thing, it's repeatable.

better then dropping cantaloupes

Extremely creative,
Steve! You are in the correct job!!

We have a couple of odd little trees at the edge of the woods - they have thin, spindly branches but the leaves and blossoms look like they belong on an apple tree.

Very attractive blooms!

Great start here Larry. Love that first one!

In honor of Mother's Day I thought I'd share some of my favorite images of the Mom's at my Happy Place, Assateague Island, MD.

This spring we've had 9 confirmed pregnant mares, 3 have given birth (all Fillies!) I've only seen 2 as 1 lives on the OSV (Over Sand Vehicle beach). You need a permit to drive on the beach and I haven't gotten one yet.

The first 2 are 3yr old first mom Linda Rae's Autumn Glory with her filly born in early March.

The second 2 are 3yr old first mom Moonshadow (born during eclipse, hence the name) and her filly born in early April.

The last in my Foster, Susie Sole and her two off spring - yearling colt TJ Hollywood (chestnut) and 2.5 yr old filly Breezy. Susie is about to foal any day now!

Happy Mother's Day to the Mom's of UHH!
Great start here Larry. Love that first one! br ... (show quote)

So... This image was shot with a fast lens, wide open aperture with the ISO raised up so that I could shoot at 1/8000th which stopped the motion of the wings. The feeder she was feeding on is under the eves of the roof so the light was not good because she was in shadow. Between the high ISO and poor lighting I had to really push this image in post to bring the exposure up, of course it became grainy, so much so that Topaz was not able to save it....

In an effort to make lemonade out of a lemon, I applied a Photoshop artistic filter and pushed exposure some more and this is what I came up with.
