Won't leave a mess...

Well, not a lot to say about myself really except that I used to be into photography as a hobby more than anything (although I always seemed to be busy with it doing events and such through word of mouth). Alas, all my equipment was stolen and I couldn't afford to replace it so I moved on. I'm still interested in the photography world and so I'll probably do more browsing and reading than actual participating in discussions, but I'll try to be quiet and not to leave a mess in my wake. Glad to meet everyone, thanks for having me... :)

Grimjack, sorry to hear about your gear...that's horrible!! I had my laptop and beloved Canon G10 stolen when my house was broken into a year ago. There was a lot of pictures on my memory card, most of my daughter. That was the most devastating part!! The crooks did not see my camera bag with my brand spankin' new Canon T2i and new telephoto lens hidden in my closet. I now keep ALL my gear in a locked closet. So believe me, I know the feeling. I'm a hobbyist myself, so any input is welcome here!!!

Anyone's comments are welcome. No gear does not equate with no knowledge or artistic opinion. Welcome and participate and have fun. Save your change, I used to teach my kids that's how we saved for Christmas. Pocket change can add up to $400 to $600 a year and more if you try, could be the start of new gear. :)

I'm in a similar boat. I received a Kodak Easyshare for my birthday, and I've been having a blast. I think, with a photographer's eye, almost any camera can do. Beg, borrow or steal (not that last one) a camera and start shooting. Look forward to hearing more from you.
