Question to Nikon owners: for an IQ comparison between two FF Nikon bodies (D850 vs. Df) which lens is best for this type of a comparison? I have primes: 50mm F1.4 D, 50mm F1.8 AFS-G, 55mm micro Nikkor f2.8 (manual focus), 85mm f.18 D AF, and a 105mm f2.8 D AF micro Nikkor. I think primes would be better than zoom lenses for this purpose. I welcome your experience.
Than you.

Apples and Oranges - no comparison. Use any lens you have and your results will be equally "valid". 45.7 MP vs. 16.2MP, current sensor vs. 2014. Knock yourself out.

Isn't that what Dxomark does as a for-profit business? What do you seek to accomplish above and beyond their approach?

Like Paul said... DxOMark is considered authoritative here... as sensors go, albeit not for many other compelling features that may (and can) have influence on IQ such as frame rate, focusing speed, control ergonomics... this list is extensive...

Here is a starting point:
https://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Nikon/D850
https://www.dxomark.com/Cameras/Nikon/Df

I've already shared my thoughts on the Nikon Df in your previous Post on May 1, 2021

You received lots of opinions on that post...

Hope this helps Davey

Here:s what I found on DXO:
Camera O/A scores: Df=89, D850 = 100
Lens scores average of 4: Df= 28, D850 = 37
Sharpness average of 4: Df= 14, D850 = 24
So, even though the O/A scores are not dramatic, the two measures I quote above are.

Makes little diff which lens you use, so long as you use same lens on each body, shooting same subj, under same conditionds and perameters.

You are going to be hard pressed to see any difference in IQ between those two bodies with what ever Nikon lens u use.
