..With his galleons and guns
Looking for the New World
And the palace in the sun
(Cortez the Killer, Neil Young).

A composite of images taken at our local pirate festival a couple of years ago, and liberally dipped in Topaz Impressions. Your critique is welcome.

Liberally dipped in......like ice cream bars in hot chocolate?!

Love this energetic work, Dave. Thanks so much for posting. That must have been quite a photogenic affair to attend.

Engaging use of color and sepia, very nicely composed, and a Neil Young reference to boot! Nice...!

Great work on this. It is blended in a natural and flowing manner. I understand that some of your pirates may not have been the real thing. The one on the left looks like a suburban pirate. This is a rousing good work!

Pirates and Neil Young - definitely ice cream and chocolate Linda!
It was a great photo opportunity, and the participants enjoy the attention too. Last year and this are cancelled although there’s talk of a smaller event late in the year.🤞
Thanks for your comments.

Thanks Tommy, good to know there are other Neil Young fans here.

Thank you Carol, I guess it’s his glasses and long coat? Certainly couldn’t be let loose with that blunderbuss thing without his specs on!

Thanks Keni. I pretty much left Topaz to it really, didn’t play with the sliders much at all.

Has the look of the Johnny Depp movie The Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Men Tell No Tale. Very well done.

Yes, it’s a nod to the storyline regarding Cortez changing the galleon into the Great Barnacle and providing Capt Sparrow with the magic sword. Cortes (correct spelling apart from the accent over the e ‘cos I’ve no idea how to create it) apparently used his magic sword to conquer Montesuma (or Moctezuma). Of course I knew none of this - it’s just what I found on the net whilst compositing the image! Thanks for your comment Frank, much appreciated.
