Number 4 looks just like one friends brought back after being stationed in Germany. Hank was 6’5” about 250 and Dorothy wasn’t petite. Their two daughters somehow fit into the back. Interesting to watch them getting in or out.

I had a teacher in high school that had one like the last photo. A few of my football buddies and I picked it up and put it in a no parking zone. The teacher never knew who did it but was real upset about having to pay a ticket for illegal parking.

Really nice job Mike...car shows make isolating one car from the other almost impossible. The little red one reminds me of a bumper car from a carnival. The last car looks to have an open floor. Interesting and unusual set of photos...thanks for sharing.

That "open floor" is a grey carpet. There were lots of "bubble cars" to be seen on british roads around 1956/8. It was the introduction of the BLMC mini that replaced them for popularity.

My Dad had the BMW when I was very young. I remember the front opening like that. I had a T-shirt that said “My Daddy drives a BMW”.

I was in W. Germany in the early 1960's as a military dependant; these were still in use at the time. They met a need for inexpensive transportation after the war in Germany. Not much more than an enclosed motorcycle with 3 wheels for stability (sort of).
