I bought a solar powered led light string inside a light bulb 💡 shaped container.
Then attempted to water proof it so I could fill it with water and use it like a crystal ball. Quite the fun experiment!
This series shows some of the stages it went through.
Permatex sealer used to protect the circuit board.

The concept was valid. Filled with water it works like a crystal ball and gives a refraction image.

When I turned it so the solar charger was down, it leaked water out and air in. I attempted to solve that by using the permatex sealer around the small solar panel. That didn't work well, the solar panel didn't get enough light.

Today I removed the sealer and replaced it with some clear plastic weld epoxy. That works better! I walked outside and discovered the led string was lit up! I was happy to see that!

I brought it inside and turned it solar panel end down, no leaks, but it needs more time to cure, so I flipped it around so the solar panel end was up again.
