Thanks Rolf. So now I have spluttered my cornflakes all over my keyboard, but worth it for a great laugh at 6am on a cold, dark morning.

The thing about dogs is, once you truly get to know them- is that they have a sense of humor.

So yes, they are very intelligent.

This cricket team was a man short.A passing dog offered to stand in. His batting was exemplary and after his second century the team declared. The ecstatic captain ran up to him exclaiming,"Never seen the like.Awesome. Will you bowl, please?"
The dog was astounded."Bowl? Whoever heard of a dog bowling?"

Bet them Americans have no idea what "declared" means in cricket language but then I have lived in the USA for 20 yrs and have no idea what ERAs and Flyballs mean in baseball.

Cornishpete, Sure I do. On some Flyballs the umpire will Declare an infield fly rule thus decreasing the chance of an increased ERA.

The great thing about being nigh on 87 is that I can tell all my tired old jokes and they come over to newer generations as novel
