Moved our off-the-wall studio props into storage today. Five large igloo coolers yesterday of studio lights, soft boxes and other modifiers. Still have a bunch of props, light stands, backdrops. This is the stuff I don’t trust the movers to handle. It’s all nice to have until you have to move it all across state.

Efficient trustworthy approach.
I do not envy you but do wish you luck with the move. I worked for the government for 20+ yers and moved around some. Finally Uncle Sam said i couldn't move myself, and the wife and I said "Thank you."

I was never high enough up the (proverbial) food chain to have Uncle pay for my moves in my 39 years. However, that being said, I can remember the excitement as a kid after an Uncle Sam pack and move finding the packed dog bowl (with food in it), dad's ash tray (with ashes and his pipe in it), the packed towels that were hanging in the bathroom to dry after our showers the day we moved, or the kitchen garbage can they figured we want to take with us (without emptying).
Uncle moved me twice. Due to some flooring problems in the 1st house (base housing), we were given another exactly 1 block and 1 house away (215 to 317, same street). I tried to convince them to let me take a couple days leave next to a weekend and move. Nope. Mayflower came in with a large truck, packed us up and drove to the new house. 2nd move was from California back to Indiana. Truck was a week late, driver said he had to wait until they got more stuff to fill up the truck, only broke a cheap desk I had.
