I find this to be true as well.

Since I was replying to the original post, I didn't think it necessary.

I have used the 16-35 f/4 for 3+ years on both full frame and crop frame. I rate the image quality as better than the 24-105 f/4L IS II I used to own but not as good as the 24-70 2.8L II I now use. It's fairly light and compact for an L zoom which is a plus. Overall I'm satisfied with the results.

The single best option is the EF 16-35 f/4L IS. You can go faster and heavier and more expensive with the f/2.8, but you lose the IS support. You can go wider and much more expense and very unique images in the EF 11-24 f/4L, but the IS version is the sweet spot of sharpness, focal length, size, weight and cost. The 17-40 f/4L is great image quality for a lower L-series price, but again you lose the IS support, if that's important for your use-it-everywhere needs.

My philosophy when buying new gear is to at least get current technology, even if not state of the art. That usually translates into an IS lens.

Fuji 10-24 has image stabilization. Sorry, forgot this was all about Canon.

Yeah? Do you figure he can mount it to his Canon body? How is that going to work?
