I've had my Canon EOS R since they were first released. I had upgraded from my beloved 6D Mark I. For too many months I've been lusting over the R5 and R6 and often even wondered if I should have bought the 5DIV instead of the R.
However I've come to realise what a terrific and tough camera the R actually is - fantastic image quality, feels like a pro camera, so far has worked impeccably and has been a reliable workhorse for my real estate work. Believe it or not I actually love this camera and I no longer lust for any other camera. I'm saving my GAS for lenses instead.
Am I mad or have I come to my senses? Have any of you come to a similar conclusion my friends?

Sony has upgraded the a9 to the a9II and now the a1. I am still getting killers with my a9, I do not see any reason to switch.
Yes and no. I have a Leica M9 and I would not part with it! Although it is an older model, I love the pictures that come out of it!
Now the Canon EOS R I owned it for about a year. It’s a very good camera for general photography, but I do mostly bird and wildlife photography, the R burst speed was too limiting. I sold it and replaced it with the Canon R6 that, although having less megapixels than the R, has a much superior autofocus, much more responsive, better at low light, better dynamic range and at 20 FPS is a speed demo. However if you do mostly landscape and architecture I agree there is no need to change to a newer model.

I guess he thought his phone wasn't good enough...
Well it wouldn't be - would it?

I don't label them.
I have a camera.
Maybe my camera identifies as a pro camera?
I don't know, I haven't asked it.
Have you identified as being a 'photographer' yet?

I have a "GREAT" stove. I will be the first to admit that THAT doesn't make me a GREAT chef!
A great chef can achieve wonders in the kitchen with only basic ingredients and the right attitude, the rest of us are always left wondering whether his camera has a mirror.
Too many people crave the "latest and greatest" And, often their current equipment is capable of much more than they need. My D7000 does everything I need it to do and a lot of things I don't need. Ask your self. Do you need enough megapixels to make a billboard when you only make 11x14 prints.
It's like a car. I have enough horse power to drive down the road at the posted speed limit. Why do I need enough horsepower to win the Indy when I can only legally drive down the road at the posted speed limit.
When my D5100 was showing its age, and my numerous vintage Nikkor lenses were wanting to utilize their FF potential, I found out that my cash back Visa card had (at the time Nikon was introducing its May 2017 spring sale) accumulated enough to buy a D750 with a 24-120 f4 lens outright. Couldn't pass up that fine camera/lens for "free" money, compliments BOA cash back!
