In the first one, the vegetation colors nicely contrast with the snaking pipeline.

Interesting pipeline photos. Quite an engineering feat to keep it warm enough to flow. Wonder what would happen if disaster struck in winter and it froze solid @ 70˚ below zero. Could it be re-started again ???

There are pumping stations that keep the temperature up. - 70 is normal on the North Slope.

At least some land-sea combination cruises go right to it, photos not as pretty/dramatic up close and personal however.

So much for the ecological disaster that was predicted. When I was up there last I saw all kinds of wildlife within close proximity to the pipeline in several different places. They acted like they had no idea that it was even there.
