Filter system on Lightroom Classic is not working.

I've researched this problem and cannot find a resolution. A long-time user of LR Classic. Suddenly my filter system does not work. I'm sure that this has been caused by operator error. Images marked rejected or picked, starred, etc come with the message "no photos match the filter". Any help that you guys can provide would much be appreciated.

Are you within a collection where no pictures fit that filter? Or a folder with the similar situation? It happens to us all where something very subtle and not obviously displayed is in fact filtering the presentation of your images. Try going to the Main Catalog view and displaying all the various menus around the screen layout to try to figure out what is going on. Maybe a file type filter?
