The youngest member of the annual Easter gathering relished her involvement in the traditional egg hunt. It wasn't long ago our own granddaughters (now teenagers) delighted in the quest. Now they either look on from a distance or text friends on their phones.
Still, there's something appealing about childhood enthusiasm. Who doesn't like looking for hidden treasure even though it means only being able to spot the eggs rather than retrieve them? Everyone enjoyed watching this child's delight as she discovered each egg.
The most wonderful and inquisitive years of life. We still hide Easter eggs here at our at our home and our grandkids still enjoy looking for them. They also help the younger ones, our great grandkids, find even more eggs. Great photos. Mahalo for sharing.
Wonderful, Vicki! You captured that childhood innocence, the uninhibited joy of surprise! too soon we all get old, or skeptical, or jaded. We would do better to be kind and hopeful and open to surprise.

What a cutie pie! I guess that last photo proves that she's leaving no stone unturned in "looking" for eggs. I'm 73 but I recall my Dad telling me to "pick a winner" whenever he caught me with my finger up my nose when I was a little tyke.
What a wonderful series. You caught it all,l the innocence of childhood, and the unexpected surprise even the not so wonderful.. Most of these belong on your wall
