Great images Kathy
I guess the saying, "Good things come to he/she who waits" is true.

Thank you, Frank. After a morning of searching, they were quite unexpected. The grey is sort of a loner. I've seen him totally alone several times. I was glad to see that he had a buddy.

Thanks, Bill. It was a tiring day, but, yes, a really good day.

Although I do not like the little Mesquite trees invading our pastures, I love a Mesquite forest. Thanks for the photos. We have five new babies this year. When the grass greens up and it warms up a tad more, will post their photos. 4 good colts and a superior filly.

I love the ability of the mesquite to grow just about anywhere. I have one that was torn up by a tornado, and it is still growing! When I was raising colts, I loved the spring when all the new little guys arrived. It is such a time of promise! Every colt born is a possible All American, no?

It is beautiful - and quite large. I don't know how many acres, but I walked a long time through it. Thank you.

can be discouraging. One just never knows where they might be. I spent hours walking several miles. No photography day is wasted, however, and I did get some neat pictures - even a BIF!!!!! For me that's a win! It's just an ugly grackle (I think), but to one who does well to get black blobs, black blobs flying are sort of fun!

Some days, you get ice cream with your cake!

wow you had a fun heyday, kathy! congrats on the bif, and i love the trees in the forest and the horses!
grackles aren't ugly...they are unique. you also got a fun nature hike. good job!
