My NIX X 15 D croaked, long past guarantee, having given great service. It was a very simple, not connected model that we greatly enjoyed. Apparently has been replaced by more sophisticated WiFi / Cloud connected models that you can run with Alexa or your cell phone - not interested. What I want is a simple replacement that I can load with an SDHC or Flash drive. Any suggestions?
Haha, yup, a 10 year old Sony digital frame that probably can no longer be purchased.

Yeah, time flies, don't it. There is a 13.3" Nix available that is still the same, suppose I'll have to settle for that.

Wow! Looked it up. Real pricey! Although 13" is the biggest I have heard of which is nice. I have picked up 3 at garage sales for about $10 apiece but they are only 9" digital frames.
In 2018 I searched for the 'best rated' frame that would become my 3rd digital frame. They seem to last maybe 3 to 5 years that seems too short, but consistent. My current is the NIX Advance 15 Inch USB Digital Picture Frame.
I like the size, I wish I could adjust the angle a bit. It sits in a corner on my kitchen counter and runs 24x7. I now have 10,652 images in the LR collection that represents the frame. In reading comments / complaints about the frame on B&H and Amazon, it seems the powersaving may turn off, but the frame then restarts from image 1. Conceivable, you might never see beyond the first 100ish if it times out and restarts. Comments about long file names seems to cause problems too. The images doesn't resize to portrait very well. I don't have the powersave, it just runs 24x7.
So, with all these comments, I set-up a LR export specific to the target pixel size of the frame that renames the files to a simple abc12345.jpg file name, with a file counter from the LR export. I also use a metadata filter and just add landscape aspect to the collection. Because I edit new and re-edit order images, I just re-run the entire export to refresh the frame, picking up any new and modified older images in a by-shooting-date order.

I don't recall spending a lot, but that was some years ago. Funny story - when Mom was still alive, I bought her an early similar size digital frame and loaded it with photos of all her Grandchildren. Came on a visit to discover she had carefully trimmed a photo and fitted it in front of the screen, the constant changes were not to her taste!

Thanks for your input, it is appreciated.
I have two that died premature deaths, so I've given up on them. One was a NIX - not sure about the other one.
We have a NIX that occasionally quits working. I unplug it for 20 seconds and it starts up again. Maybe you have already tried that.
NixPlay. The frame has lasted more than 5 years. The remotes always quit after a few months so I've given up on their remotes.
For something truly high-end, look at Meural Digital Canvas, now owned by NetGear. Expensive, but optically/artistically superb.

Thank you, and yes. Unfortunately still has the same issue.

Thanks - my frame is probably better than 5 years old. I did have to replace the battery in the remote, but it works fine. If you want it, PM me. Meural is way out of my price range, but certainly looks great.
David Martin mentioned Meural Digital Canvas. It is really nice and has a really great fine art subscription if you want to be reminded of great art you might love.
I still have a small HP Frame but really never use it. I use a 50" Samsung TV and access all my pictures I have on Google Photos. I can do that via wifi or a Thumb drive.
