A few days ago, I took some shots of a long train as it approached a crossing. Being curious, I looked it up and found out that it was named for W. Thomas Rice who was a co-founder of CSX.

Hope you enjoy.

I love trains and I love your photos Bill. Where in Jersey did you capture them?

Enjoyed the shots.
I work with a train aficionado who enjoys riding and making layouts in his basement.

Thanks Mark - I'm glad you liked it. I was at New Market Pond Park testing out a new Z lens when the crossing arms started to come down as a train approached. I hustled over and fortunately had the right settings dialed into the camera. These were first train shots I've taken in well over 10 years, and it was fun.

Thanks Jusayen - I'm glad you liked it and appreciate your very nice comments. These were taken in New Market Pond Park in Piscataway, NJ. I had gone there to practice using a new lens, and before I even got started I could hear the approaching train and thought it would be fun to shoot it.

Thanks Architect1776 - I'm glad you liked them. I've always liked trains, but mostly they were a casual interest. When I was at AT&T, I remember a guy who worked in the mail room and his life revolved around trains. He had an almost encyclopedic knowledge about them, and was great fun to talk to.
