Address Labels

I now have enough address labels to last into the next millennium. If I donated the suggested amount to every request, my monthly SSI check would be gone in a flash. I have my own charitable cause, my granddaughters’ educations; so, sorry all you label mailers, try someone else.

I am with you in that I have a long term supply myself. I hate the thought behind them because most think they can gilt you into sending money and for many I'm sure it works!

Scratch pad tablets, I have those coming out of my ears in addition to labels.
Can't seem to use either fast enough.
I haven't printed return labels in years,
and don't have to worry about scratch note paper either.

I know your pain too. I get all sorts of mailing labels, note pads, cheap pens, and weird things in the mail. About the only thing I give in to is Greyhound Dog Calendars. Luckily it seems for now that our monthly expenses are less than our retirement benefits.

These days even with Medicare our biggest expense is medical and medications. Luckily we own the home outright.

I agree, John. Helping to educate our grandchildren is the greatest investment we will ever make. Also the most enjoyable.

I agree. So far, we have a software engineer, a nurse, a speech therapist, and two to go.

Of all the ones I get, there are two charities I give too. I would do it whether they sent the labels or not. And yes I do my granddaughter's education too.

I'm with you. When I took over my mother's finances because she had dementia, I found out she had given away $30,000 to charities. Most were sending a new request every time they received her donation and since she didn't remember writing a check, she's send another. In some cases she was getting a new request, every other week. Like jaymatt, I have several charities (including my kids and grandkids) on my own short list of those I support.

I had a nickel one sent me. Didn't go through the shredder very well lol. Also use a rubber stamp, not stickers

I absolutely feel no obligation to support unrequested items arriving in my mailbox. The areas I support were chosen/vetted and weren’t a result of random solicitation.
