I just posted a pic of an eagle launching into the morning sun. This is the tree it was sitting in. These pics taken a year ago (5.24.2020). It is a marker tree, a marsh community multi-use meeting place, a lookout tree. I've seen eagles, hawks, flickers and wood ducks in this tree. Otter visit this corner of Salmon Creek to fish and loll in the sand banks the current creates rounding the bend. People come here to fish and swim and do morning river sand exercises. There is a foot bridge nearby over a stream that feeds into Salmon Creek. This tree and that bridge are landmarks for Salmon Creek Trail hikers and runners. Just yesterday I had conversation with two such on the trail by the tree. And I have a pic of a man fishing the stream just below the tree. A special place.
Love the gray against the green.
I really enjoyed your narrative. The second shot is my favorite. The composition really works and it is a lovely shot.
Perhaps as good a, "STORY," as picture! I have a memory of several places on some of our waterways.
Most have been washed away as a result of seasonable flooding. But, not this year as we are in drought conditions.
Keep shooting and walking! J. R.

Beautiful set with an insightful narrative.
