Maybe I'm just missing the topics but it appears daylight flash is rarely used.
How many people go out with a hot shoe mounted flash attached to their camera in daylight?
Why do you or why do you not?

When I did crime scene photos I used a flash as fill light, on a Stroboframe bracket.

I think many photographers never really learn how to use flash effectively in daylight. It takes some practice to learn when to use it and how much to dial in. When I browse through the Gallery section, I see many images which could have benefited from a little flash!

You’re right. Just need to dial in some flash EC if it’s needed. Even the pop-up within its limitations can help when all else fails. YouTube has a number of useful videos on fill-flash in daylight that can give beginners a place to start.
