So far I cannot find anything out about the ranch building shown but local lore sates that the log structure at the extreme left was the remains of the old Little Laramie stage station of the Overland Express. USGS maps show the Overland going a few hundred yards to the North so the possibilities are good for this being that historic structure. In a time when structures were normally just "thrown up" this old ranch house is a remarkable example of careful and loving workmanship. The roof is now gone and so the structure is not long until collapse. At 77 years old I identify with the fast approach of an ending era and there is a visceral sadness to the rapid decline of this wonderful old building.

Thank you, the 1849 Cherokee Trail passed over this stretch of river about 10 miles north and the UP railroad used the same stretch, so much history!

This time of the year the colors and contrasts tend to be easy on the eyes, thanks.
