I had software which would add text or a filename to the body of a photo (jpg). Somehow it got lost. Anyone know name of software which would do that? thanks.. Ed
You can use PhotoShop Elements. You probably used something simpler for this image. But, once you purchase a copy of PSE, you might never need another for this type of 'graphics' work. I have an outdated copy of PSE-10 from 2011 that I use for this type of work every day. The current version is PSE2011, that makes it seem like you should buy it new every year. You don't.
this was free software, from somewhere, photoshop is $79 for students..tnx tho.. Ed
I think Faststone will do it. It's free so it's worth a try.
Irfanview is a free Windows program that has a feature for placing the file name or any text on your photos. It allows you to change the format of the text as well and can process batches of files.
I’ve used it when posting a bunch of photos for a group to share which photo they prefer. It’s available at
https://www.irfanview.com/
The FREE version of Photofiltre does it, adds shadows, angles, transparent text, etc. Go to photofiltre.com, select English, then look at the left side for the free versions.

Irfanview is my app of choice for a quick text overlay. FastStone will probably do it but I don't use that much. However, although free, both those programs are Windows only.
PhotoShop Elements current version is 21
My version of Paint seems to have a low limit on the file size it can handle. Picasa, no longer maintained but still functional, is an easy program to use. I'm sure there is a program that comes with your camera. If you don't have it, you should be able to get it online at the manufacturer's website.
