This is definitely a strange statue. Do you have any idea of it’s intended message or significance?

It's the Blessed Virgin Mary and some artist's interpretation. I found out a while back, there is an awesome amount of money for specializing in cemetery art. Art - and not the headstone stuff, but pieces like this here... Thanks for looking.

Is it the fisher of men?

I've always thought it was Mary, just with the posture and the face. Now, thanks to your question, I am not sure. The cloak is billowing out, so the figure is thin. It would make a great fishing lure with that "hook." Thanks for the thought-provoking question. I never really looked at the front side except from the road.

Nice early spring view Joe!

I have the statue to the left of the frame since otherwise I couldn't get that interesting cloud formation in the picture. Cheap Motorola phone that normally takes some nice photos.

Great capture, Joe. I think the figure is holding a shepherd’s crook.

You're right. The five or six times I have been there since my Uncle Leo died, I never walked around to the front. I think today is the day for that.

Wow - that's something you don't see every day! Great shot Joe.

It always strikes me as "bug-like" from a distance. I have never looked at the front, so I am going to do so today. I will let you guys know more.

Thank you! I love the light on the metal. Cheap Motorola, but often takes fine shots.
