Blue and Gold closeups

Yesterday I took some blue hour closeups experimenting with various depths of field. My Zeiss 85mm can really create a shallow depth of field. This morning I went out the door with the longs lens to get more YHBB shots. The gale that met me convinced me to try another day, so I took a golden hour shot of one of our blooming trees.

In the blue hour shots (#1 - 6) I would appreciate your comments/reactions to these shots.

I like these shots, you asked for input. I see "fringing" along the leaf edges, especially the red petals. Plus the reds "look" blown although they may not be blown.

Actually, those were my university colors, Chief. It was not USNA.

Thanks, Jim, I wanted to see what different DoF looked like.

Thanks, Tim, I am experimenting with denoise and adjusting the reds in my flower shots. That is helpful.

Thanks for sharing these photos, Mike. I love the results with the Zeiss, it creates a very artistic image. The composition of #1, combined with the Zeiss shallow depth of field, created a gallery worthy work, beautiful.

Very nice, Mike. The last two are my favorites. The DOF is a little shallow in some for my personal taste. You have some very nice perspectives and compositions in these.
