I think Lytro missed the marketing mark by always stressing the "oh, look, I can focus here and now I can focus here" with their shared "living pictures." Like a lot of 3D, it got boring real quick.
The idea of a camera used by photojournalists, sports and event photographers might have been a better approach.
Computational photography is like the bot server I set up. Ping my IP address and I capture yours. My bot server instantly sends you thousands of bots. No big deal. Keeps the trolls away from my chit. :)
