Mountain Bluebirds love the high dry mountains of central Washington State. I traveled along Badger Mountain Road east of Wenatchee in search of these elusive birds. It was cold and the wind was blowing about 20mph making it difficult to hold the camera steady. I searched for about an hour before I found a pair of bluebirds. They were skittish. It was hard to get close. But I managed to get a few half way decent shots I thought I would share. They won't win any awards but I think worth viewing none-the-less. The male Mountain Bluebird, in particular, is very striking. Also attached are a few shots of the high mountain area where these birds live and where wheat is regularly grown and harvested. I hope you enjoy these shots.

Spectacular shots
That of the farm on the plain is amazingly beautiful⭐ You have some awesome skills🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Nice series, well taken! These beautiful little guys (and girls) are so skittish I am impressed that you got them sitting! Probably they were gone in a nanosecond but stayed long enough for your images!
Nice shots. I missed them by about a month here in Central Oregon. I went looking at our local wildlife refuge for them yesterday. I didn't see any. I checke by previous Bluebird shots and they are around here in early to mid March and then move to the mountains after a week or two.
Great shots of those cute little birds and beautiful country they live in.
Thank you all. I truly appreciate the kind comments.
This is a beautiful series of images of a beautiful portion of America. Thank you for sharing.
Love your pics. Thanks for sharing...
We have them here too, in southwestern NM. There's a hill near my house that I sometimes walk up in the morning before work, and occasionally I'll see a whole tree full of mountain bluebirds, so bright and vibrant. Thanks you for these photos.
Bluebirds lived in my neighborhood along with Meadowlarks when we moved there in 1948. Sadly the area built up and both moved on. The Meadowlark song and Bluebird's color make them among my favorite birds. Your shot of the abandoned homestead is one that could hang in a gallery.
I love bluebirds! Once, I took a photo with of a insect in the bird's beak.
