I literally feel your pain! I had my 100 mm macro on my D7100 out this early bright, and I figure my minimum height above the ground is maybe 24 inches. I just look at the small, low flowers and think "Pretty", and on to something higher.
Maybe my dad's favorite recipe for pain killer...Butterscotch!... A pound of butter and a quart of Scotch, mixed well, may help. He said it doesn't lessen the pain, but after two glasses, you just don't care! Be well!
Seriously, I have been looking at the garden kneelers as maybe a solution...the heavy duty ones are said to support "up to 300 pounds" UH HUH! I'm nowhere near that, but I take all advertising of "up to" with a large helping of salt!
Be well!
I have a garden kneeler that doubles as a seat by turning it over. It gets my knees about 4 inches off the ground and has handles to get me up. It's not very useful when I'm out hunting but works well when sitting on a bee bush kneeling by an ant hill.
Thank you for the butterscotch idea but I have been using Irish for that purpose
