Focus Stacked Small Violet

Our yards are carpeted with little wild violets. This is one that has yet to turn to that lovely purple they are known for. They start out quite pale when they first bud and then turn darker as they mature.

Thanks, UTMike. Wildflowers are my favorite subjects although they come and go quite quickly and they are quite difficult to keep fresh if I bring them in. When I do bring one in I put it in ice water to keep it from wilting.

Thanks, Carol. It is a focus stacked image taken with a 5X-magnification microscope objective used as the camera lens. It is 389 individual shots taken at a step distance of 10-microns each and processed into the single image using Zerene Stacker.
