I was busy taking pictures of a gunfight at the Superstition Mountain Museum in Apache Junction, Arizona when I heard the droning sound of large airplane engines approaching. I looked up and, in the distance, I saw the "Sentimental Journey" making a run for the mountain. I changed to my 300mm telephoto just in time to get a couple of quick shots as the WWll bomber passed overhead.
I recently purchased a refurbished Canon M6 Mark ll with a 32mp cropped sensor and dual pixel focusing technology, so I was anxious to check out the detail of the final image. The bomber was a bit less than 5,000 feet as it passed over us but, as I pressed the button to obtain focus, the lens literally snapped into focus and I was able to fire off my shots.
Check for yourself, I think I see a person's left knee and right leg behind the glass in the bomber's seat.
